Those Who Pray:
Priests

Order

Priests generally belong to one of the major Church Orders, although some priests find the orders too constraining or political and choose, instead, to live as Mendicant Monks.

Name Notes
Urth Orthodox The Urth Orthodox order is the most powerful order in the Universal Church. They are the "official religion" of the Known Worlds, and perform many traditional clerical roles: watching over the flock, giving sermons, etc.
Brother Battle A special order of warrior monks, Brother Battle members learn how to fight to defend their faith. They are well aware that the enemies of the Church are always striving to destroy the Known Worlds, and Brother Battle is always ready to engage those enemies.
Temple Avesti Temple Avesti are fanatical defenders of faith. They despise technology and heresy, but they love their flamethrowers.
Eskatonic Order The Eskatonic Order are devoted to the study of the occult and understanding the mystical lore.
Santuary Aeon (Almatheans) As dedicants to Saint Almathea, the Santuary Aeon strives to use its healing powers for the good of humanity.

Other Sects

These sects are generally believed to be heretical.

Name Notes
Incarnates This sect is not allied with the official Universal Church. Although they believe in Zebulon the prophet, the also believe that Zebulon would have disapproved of the rigid hierarchy of the Universal Church. In their eyes, priests should not be hiding out in temples and monestaries, but should be living and working among the people.
The Children of Zuran The Children of Zuran are a pagan cult -- they don't preach that the Omega gospels are the true teachings of the Pancreator. Instead the Zuranists combine folk legends and spirit magic into their own heretical belief system.
